August 19, 2007 In the Cathedral of St. Cyril of Turauski in Brooklyn, an event was held on the occasion of the 450th birthday of Leo Sapieha, a political, social and military figure of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, who for more than 30 years was the great chancellor, that is, the second person in the state after Grand Duke Sigismund III.

Monument to Balyaslau Yalavetcki
On August 5, 2007 in Lyntupy (Pastavy district) a monument to Balyaslau Yalavetski was opened. He was an excellent engineer-inventor, railroadman, employer, statesman of then Russian empire. His name has been written with the golden letters in the Petersburg Engineering Academy.
